I have a very well-equipped studio that I enjoy working in every day. My space and the tools in it are sacred to me. Everything has its place and returns there when I’m finished with it.
Some of my machines are new, but most of them are oldies that were purchased second hand. The old machines are so cool.
They’ve all developed quirks and personalities of their own over the years but learning to work with them is part of the fun.
I spent a lot of time on the Internet tracking down these beautiful machines. The best ones were purchased from old guys who treated them like gold for their entire career but are now retired.
On a few occasions, I had to hug it out with a fellow who started crying as I loaded up the truck. I made sure to let them know that I was going to treat their machines as well as they did before I retire and pass them onto the next generation.
